Introduction

2023 was a year of meager efforts to reign in global warming on a meaningful scale. Most nations stayed behind in their 2015 greenhouse gas emissions pledges which are now being reduced because clean energy production is far from commercial scale. The transition from Dirty Energy to Clean Energy will take much more time - as Earth continues to warm up. Meanwhile, fossil fuel consumption will remain a necessity in order for the world’s economies to function.

Point in Fact: Humanity is not yet collectively considering the climate crisis an emergency and therefore, the many reasons why we are wrapped in an uncertain environmental destiny will continue to mount up.

I am not here to debate or discuss politics. Should any of you wish to go in that direction, I’m sorry, but you’re in the wrong place. The reason: global warming is not a debatable topic because debating will just continue to delay a very straightforward approach for solving an extremely obvious crisis.

Everything I write is taken from well-chronicled climate monitoring reports available for the public. The world scientific agencies that track climate conditions, record them, then publish their findings are too numerous for me to list. Examples in the U.S. are: NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Integrated Drought Information Systems (NIDIS), Office of Global Change, Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), U.S. Department of Energy, Berkeley Earth, and the National Centers for Environmental Information. On the world climate dataset stage, there are: Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), World Meteorological Organization (WMO), European Copernicus Programme, World Weather Attribution, U.K Meteorological Office (Met Office), and the Japanese Meteorological Agency.

In addition, practically every noteworthy worldwide university/college participates in climate science and/or environmental studies and their published findings appear on a regular basis.

Instead of repeatedly referring to scientific sources throughout my weekly posts, please think of the collective sources above, and many more, that provide honest, trustworthy facts pertaining to our one-of-kind planet found nowhere else in the universe.

These are my sources for global warming related data and whenever I refer to an environmental statistic or state a climate change assessment of any kind, it is derived from these agencies, dozens of scientific journals, as well as hundreds of educational sources. So, I’m not making this narrative up.
